Introducing the Sustains Us Residents Group
We’re excited to announce the launch of the Sustains Us Residents Group – a collective of South Bank and Waterloo residents coming together to help shape a fairer and greener neighbourhood.
Run by SoWN, the local neighbourhood forum, the group builds on previous work as the SoWN Environment Group. Its restoration under the Sustains Us banner marks SoWN’s continued commitment to supporting local action on issues that matter to residents, including recycling and waste, air quality and sustainable transport.
The group held its first meeting earlier this May, bringing together residents who shared thoughtful, creative and optimistic ideas for the area. Together, they started to shape plans for the group’s first project: a community event in September as part of the Mayor’s Community Weekend. The event will showcase local organisations and initiatives working towards a more sustainable South Bank and Waterloo, while giving residents the chance to connect, celebrate local action and explore ways to get involved.
